If you are ready and willing to build your cabin from scratch, I commend you for tackling such a large and adventurous project!  I’m a fairly handy person when it comes to tools, but am not sure I would attempt to undertake building such a structure at this time in my life.  Anyway, through some research, I have found two companies that offer some nice, simple cabin plans that are easy to understand and follow.  I hope this gives you a few ideas as to where to begin.
